Pricing
PRICING
Pricing is a difficult subject. To give a set price to a guitar would not be possible unless I had already built the instrument. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to say prior to taking on a commission. As each instrument is unique, so each price is unique. For example, your choices of tone woods, Machine heads, Pickups, bridge, construction & finish will all go towards the final total. So only after the final specification has been drawn up, can an accurate price can be determined.
If you do have something in mind, contact me. An approximate quote can be provided with a few basic pieces of information.
Once a final specification and price has been agreed, Commencement of your build generally requires between a 30% - 40% deposit. Depending on materials required.
TIMESCALE, How long will it take
This is difficult to say. It depends on the amount of work in your particular commission. The amount of one off features, like specially machined hardware or elaborate inlays will also have an effect on time involved. But usually you are looking at about four or five months per instrument.
